Anderson has been promoted to general agent of the Big Four at Cincinnati. Jane Sellers and Elizabeth Brooks escorted about twenty students to a Kansas legislature session in Topeka.
C A Dykstra attended a chamber meeting with three speakers and a discussion on local business concerns. The event highlighted community development plans and future gatherings.
Theodore Scott Griesa a Kansas University senior and Phi Psi member died Saturday afternoon in a duck blind four miles northwest of town during a hunting trip with Clinton Kanaga. The two National Guard sergeants had planned a day in each other’s company. Kanaga notified friends and Griesa’s funeral held at his parents’ home with Oak Hill cemetery interment.
Representative Elmer Brown presents to the Lawrence WCTU the original pen used by Speaker Keene to sign the Bone Dry law of Kansas. The pen broke while signing. Brown invites WCTU to formally thank Keene and predicts him as the next governor.

Choral Union Met Tonight The Choral Union meets at Fraser Hall at 7 50 pm tonight, moved from last night because of a concert. No rehearsal next week. Death of Mrs Ivsfield Mrs Leana Ivsfield 73 died Sunday at her Tennessee street home. Funeral at 2 30 pm tomorrow conducted by Rev George Diarsie, burial at Maple Grove cemetery.
Dutch contralto Fillie Koenen will headline a leading concert at University Robinson Gymnasium Tuesday evening. Program includes Brahms Sapphische Ode and Der Wegweiser, Schubert Der Hirt auf dem Felsen, Rubinstein pieces How Shines the Dew and Shule Agra, plus Kerry Dance, Irish songs, Dutch children songs, and arias by Van Byron and Auguste Holmes.
Lawrence plans a March 11 concert to raise funds for Belgian relief. Rev B A Edwards elected president of a local organization with George O Foster as secretary and C H Tucker as treasurer. Proceeds from the day’s cash go to Belgian children relief. pledges later aid the general fund. Lawrence residents urged to support the effort.

London dispatches report the Cunard liner Laconia torpedoed without warning en route from New York to Liverpool. About 1,270 passengers onboard, including many Americans, were affected. 40 to 50 survivors landed in Queenstown and more were missing.
