Baker Wetlands Discovery Center opens soon in Lawrence
The 11 000 square foot Baker University Wetlands Discovery Center rises at the Lawrence site as the South Lawrence Trafficway project alters access. Slated to open to the public in September, the center will feature a three wing design with a gallery, classroom and research lab. It is funded at 15 million dollars with state mitigation and a 350 000 dollar site upgrade grant. Baker faculty see it as an educational hub for wetlands science and community outreach.
