Barr of the Lawrence Westvaco Mineral Products plant have been invited by President Eisenhower to attend the President's Conference on Occupational Safety in Washington March 1 3. The conference aims to reduce the 13300 annual on the job deaths and nearly two million disabling injuries by voluntary industry wide cooperation. James P. Mitchell will lead the conference which seeks broad topics addressing new hazards of the 1960s. The plant reported 577 days without a lost time injury as of Jan 31 with 307060 man hours worked since then, surpassing the previous record of 1483 days set in 1951.
