County approves lower tax rebate for Eldridge expansion
Douglas County Commission unanimously approved an 85 percent 15 year tax rebate for Eldridge Hotel expansion, below Lawrence City meeting’s 95 percent plan. The project costs 12.5 million, adds 54 bedrooms a meeting room kitchen and bar, with annual taxes rising from 4,900 to about 11,000 in year one. City vote recheck set for March 10.
