Dr. Mark Beach Dead at Camp Doniphan
Lieut Mark Beach once known as Dr Beach died at Fort Sill Oklahoma from an abscess in the head. He had recently moved from Camp Funston to Camp Doniphan to serve the 130th Field Artillery but contracted a severe cold leading to meningitis or pneumonia. Mrs Beach and their two sons plus her brother from Burlingame accompanied by the family to Camp Doniphan when the end came. He received a military funeral and was laid to rest in Clinton at the Methodist church. Dr Beach was a respected Clinton physician who settled there shortly before his marriage and helped shape the community.

Robber enters several doctors offices for cocaine and gold
A thief or thieves entered the Dick Building offices of Dr. W W Russ C E Orelup and Dr Will Gorrill and others Saturday night. Cocaine and gold fillings valued under fifty dollars were stolen with other dental supplies while only minor items were taken from Dr McConnell and Dr Keith. A skeleton key and broken transom aided entry and the robber lit matches during the search.
