Jayhawks sign 20 to letters
Kansas signed eight out of state players to national football letters of intent Wednesday, including a trio from Arkansas. The class totals 20 of 30 NCAA scholarships, with 12 in-state signees. Others include Mark Wilbers, Greg Preble, Al Lee, Karlton Ballard, Ernest Heywood, J C Booker, Robert Gentry, Buford Johnson. KU expected to sign more players today.

Clinton Nears KU Signing as Top Prep QB Prospect
Kansas expected to ink Kevin Clinton, a 6-3, 205-pound standout from Wichita Southeast who led the Class 5A state champion and will play both football and baseball at KU. He excelled as a pitcher and hitter, with a near .400 average two seasons, and may handle punting or place kicking for the Jayhawks. His father Lu is a former major league outfielder.
