Twin sisters undergo same day heart implants at Lawrence Memorial
Identical twins Karen Harman-McGowan and Sharon Harman-Hill from Lawrence, longtime staff at Lawrence Plastic Surgery, were diagnosed with noncompaction cardiomyopathy last fall. Cardiologist Ravi Yarlagadda implanted defibrillators in their chests on the same afternoon at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Karen's procedure came first, Sharon about an hour later, as both continue medication for heart failure.
