Six Die in Joliet Hotel Fire After Downtown Blaze
A downtown Joliet hotel fire killed six men and injured nine others, three critically. The Grand Hotel, a two story brick building above an auto parts store, burned from about 3 20 a m as fire crews fought the blaze in 8 degree weather, bringing it under control after more than three hours. About 14 were rescued and all city equipment was used in the effort.

Marchers Rally in Sacramento Against Reagan Higher Ed Cuts
