Bonner Springs man injured in Leavenworth County motorcycle crash
Jay Goss was thrown from his motorcycle Sunday afternoon and flown to Kansas University Medical Center after landing on his head in Leavenworth County. A condition report was unavailable Tuesday. Firefighters halted a grass fire northeast of Lawrence started by burning garbage embers, damaging several vehicles and parts of a deck at 1531 N 2000 Road. Fire crews cleared the scene in about 30 minutes after 3:18 p.m. Additional responses included an oil spill at 12:15 a.m. Monday near 23rd and Harper streets.

Services for Warren Roscoe Southard 80 of Wichita will be at College Hill United Methodist Church. He died February 5 2006 at home. Born July 14 1925 in Stockton he moved to Wichita in 1942 and served in the Navy V 5 program. Firefighters contained a basement blaze at 3405 Oxford Court Tuesday around 6 p.m. The bilevel house sustained about $80,000 in damage while occupants escaped unharmed. Investigators will examine the cause today as Kasold Drive was closed for about 45 minutes to lay a 5 inch hose.
