Stolen Car Pursuit Ends With Two Arrests in Lawrence
Two men were chased from near the Kansas River Bridge in Lawrence to five miles west of Linwood after stealing a KU student’s car. They abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. one was tracked through snow while the other through a field. A Lawrence officer fired twice during the pursuit. Bond was set at 1500 each. A Kentucky stolen car recovered in Lawrence sparked further charges and two juveniles were taken into custody in a separate case. Police cited continued investigation into bringing stolen property into the state.

Two KU Students Hurt in Late Afternoon Accident
Two Kansas University students Linnea Lenn and Ann Wallace were taken to Watkins Memorial Hospital after a crash at 21st Street and Naismith Drive at 4 07 p m on Monday. A third person in Lenns car was uninjured. Police report damage to the Chapman car and Lenn car totaling 285 and 300 dollars respectively. A separate crash near 4th and Fla Streets left Judy Welch shaken after her car collided with Erma Ingram car damaged at 95 and 200 dollars.
