Man Charged After Assault in Douglas County Court
Robert L. Surles, 49, of Michigan, posted 1500 bond to appear in Douglas County Court at 10 am Friday on felonious assault charges. He is accused of choking and stabbing his wife Marie Surles 55, who was hospitalized in fair condition with injuries to the right middle region, scratches, and bruises after she called police. James W. Berry, 42, Shawnee Mission, was bound over to the February term for issuing an insufficient funds check for 79.26 to Ready Mixed Concrete Co., with bond set at 1500. Funeral notices follow.
