President Nixon signed the largest tax revision bill in a generation, tightening loopholes while expanding tax relief for many under 100000 income. The act raises Social Security benefits, shifts exemptions, imposes a new minimum tax on high earners, and trims several preferences while keeping surtaxes and excise taxes.
