Smallpox Vaccination Surge After Bus Driver Case
In Reeds Springs Missouri more than 800 people were vaccinated after a school bus driver contracted smallpox. Over 400 students teachers and staff at Reeds Spring School were vaccinated Tuesday and about 400 adults lined up at a downtown drugstore. Willie Withnell the 40 year old driver was reported in good condition. It is Missouri's first smallpox case in eight years. Superintendent Mearle Bell urged vaccination for all pupils and teachers regardless of prior vaccination.
