Demand grows to overhaul act in new Congress
Washington reports growing pressure for major changes to the Wagner labor relations act in the 1940 session. President Roosevelt may propose compromises, with committees in both houses studying amendments from labor and industry. Separate proposals on the wage hour law also loom as hearings continue and resignations potential. Joseph Harrison Flora, Kansas forestry official, died at 50 in Salina, with funeral set for Quinter.
