Provincetown Mass Dée 29 AP Hope rises for recovery of bodies from the submarine disaster as naval salvage ships move south in good weather. Divers completed the second tunnel under the wreck and expect the hull to be opened by nightfall. Once sealed and secured, pontoons will be attached to the chains for dewatering and lifting operations. Officials say the work could finish by week’s end, with some bodies possibly brought to the surface. The salvage half set is 46 feet aft of the bow and 20 feet wide, tall enough for a man to stand inside.

A 11-year-old Oakland girl was found safe at the home of Mrs. Emma near Redlands after an extensive countywide search for her abductor Ernest Arthur McClelland a paroled convict.
