San Francisco Zoo Director Manuel Mollinedo said the tiger enclosure wall is 12 feet 5 inches high, well below the 16.4 feet recommended by AZA. Investigators say the 350-pound female Tatiana likely escaped by leaping or climbing, not through a gate, as safety officials revisit enclosure standards after the Christmas Day incident that killed Carlos Sousa Jr. and injured two others.
