Two masked men robbed a Times distribution center in New York City tied up five workers and stole 5000 in cash and a delivery truck. No serious injuries reported and no arrests. The abandoned truck was found under an hour later. Times spokeswoman declined further comment pending police investigation.
Luan Phi Dawson 33 of Duvall Washington was declared brain dead after a piece of metal tore from a tall ship on Christmas Eve at Disneyland. His wife Lieu Thuy Vuong 43 remained in fair condition and employee Christine Carpenter also injured. Dawson's death brings Disneyland's ride-related fatalities to nine since 1955. hospital officials awaited family arrival while Dawson remained on a respirator.
