County Commission Plans To Put More Irons in Fire
The Douglas County Commission in 1973 approved a 2.8 million bond issue plus funds to build the county city judicial law enforcement complex. They took on ambulance service, social programs, and studied joining regional planning groups while eyeing a 5 to 6 million bridge bond for 51 county bridges and the Lawrence Kansas River Bridge.
