Supreme Court voids Kansas instant bingo law
Kansas Supreme Court ruled 5-2 that the 1993 effort to legalize instant bingo by religious, fraternal and charitable groups was unconstitutional. Atty. Gen. Bob Stephan called the decision a Christmas present and said the Legislature overstepped constitutional bounds by redefining bingo. The ruling requires a new constitutional amendment and voter approval to legalize instant bingo.
