Baldwin City Santa Shares Year Round Christmas Spirit
Baldwin City resident Gary Browne, a 6 foot 8 inch former antique dealer, has spent 32 years as Santa Claus. He appears 25 to 50 times yearly for civic groups, Scouts, hospitals, and ill children, driven in an antique fire truck during the Baldwin Festival of Lights. Browne notes he does it for the goodness of giving, not money, and has helped families in need after local fires, keeping Christmas hope alive for the community.
