A three week old silver buff cocker spaniel named Feller will be air shipped from Galena Illinois to Chicago tomorrow as a White House mascot for President Truman. The gift comes from Mr and Mrs Peter J Marsden. A wolf hunt is planned for Sunday at Kanawha Hall starting at 10 a.m with shotguns allowed and lunch served.
President Truman asks Congress for a 217 billion four year aid package based on a State Department study reworking the Paris Marshall plan. The plan calls for higher prices for aid received and urges Europe to raise exports while slowing domestic capital expansion. It also recommends chartering 30 US ships temporarily and reducing Europe’s shipbuilding target.
