Dr. C D Dodds medical officer for the United States veterans bureau and Lawrence Kansas resident died last night in Albuquerque after a paralytic stroke. He survived by his wife Hulda, his mother Elizabeth Dodds of Lincoln, and brothers Fi R Dodds of this city and W E Dodds of Grand Junction Colorado. He worked as a tuberculosis specialist and had practiced in Summerfield before moving to Albuquerque. F B Dodds left to attend the funeral set to be held in Albuquerque.
Fire crews extinguished a roof blaze at 704 New York Street caused by chimney sparks. Another fire in the basement at 1531 Ohio Street damaged contents from smoke. Bank robbery at Nebraska City saw two men vault three workers and flee with 6000 to 8000 dollars plus government bonds valued around 30000. State sheriff notified about 1:30 PM.
