The Kansas budget office proposed 49.57 million dollars in state funds for five state universities and colleges, a reduction of 1.1 million from requests. Regents and Gov. Anderson pressed for funds and a proposed 4 percent faculty pay raise was trimmed to 2 percent.

Obituary for Mrs. Margaret Brinkman of Lawrence

Mrs. Margaret J. Brinkman died Thursday December 13 1962 at 1602 Barker Avenue after a long illness. She was born May 31 1891 in Tonganoxie daughter of Robert and Charlotte Robertson and taught in elementary schools at Friendship Valley Basehor and Ft Leavenworth. She married Henry C Brinkman in 1912 and survived by her husband her mother a sister a niece and two foster daughters.
