Topeka Dec 16 Kansas formally cast its nine electoral votes for the Republican presidential nominee and running mate. Eight electors met at the secretary of state's office to sign papers, with Stuber as chairman and Obee as secretary. All electors will receive pay and mileage. this marked the first GOP elector gathering at the statehouse since 1928.
The Kansas Supreme Court awarded Ottawa attorney Fred M. Harris a 750 dollar attorney fee and 79 19 expenses for his work as commissioner in the ouster suit against former Topeka police chief Charles D. McNaught. The court rejected Harris name McNaught’s clearance. Stenographic expenses for two weeks of hearings were included.
