M E Gebhardt, 38, an escaped Kansas state penitentiary convict, was held in Topeka on charges of robbing the People's State Bank of Rossville of about 400 to 500 dollars. Sheriff Rogers said Gebhardt confessed to the single handed robbery yesterday. He had escaped December 7 from the penitentiary where he faced a 10 to 21 year term for first degree robbery. He was sent to prison from Sedgwick county in 1925.
