A Dominican government official reports a plotted murder of US minister to Haiti and Santo Domingo, William F. Powell, with two prior failed attempts. Ex-President Jiminez was named as a target in timing with other officials. The plan aimed to stage a street fight to mask further killings but was abandoned due to cabinet opposition. Powell is reportedly heavily guarded in public.
Seventy members of the Louisiana Purchase exposition board of lady managers met in St Louis with seventeen present. Absentees included Mrs Helle Everest of Atchison and Mrs James Blair ally. The group favored electing Mrs Daniel Manning of Albany as president with Mr John O T Davis also in contention. Mrs Frederick Hanger cannot continue as secretary and a successor is expected.

A. C. G. Bushnell, cashier at Yale National Bank in New Haven, shot himself before opening hours. He died later as bank examiner from the United States conducted a regular semi annual inspection. Officials doubt fear of a discovered shortage caused the act.

Mr Grant Mull received a telegram from his brother in Kech Kansas announcing the death of his mother Mrs Ellen Mull early today. The community will mourn her passing.
