Solid Waste Plans Progressing Well in Kansas
Kansas counties progress well ahead of schedule in solid waste disposal planning. J Howard Duncan, head of environmental health’s sanitation section, says over half of the 105 counties have completed plans, with 34 counties finishing legal steps too. The June 30 1974 deadline looms for plan submission and permits for new sites. Duncan notes nearly 4 000 firms must comply with open burning ban, with enforcement expected against under 100 businesses.
