Embattled KU professor's career shaded by faith clash
KU associate professor Paul Mirecki faced a political firestorm after disparaging remarks about conservatives and Catholics emerged from online posts. He says the campus beating and loss of chairmanship stem from controversy over planning a course on intelligent design as mythology rather than science. Mirecki, a lifelong student of religions, helped uncover the lost Gospel of Savior and a hidden Egyptian scroll, fueling his scholarly reputation even as critics question his approach.
