Northeast Storm Strands Roads Closes Schools Across Region
A major snowstorm blanketed the Northeast delaying commutes and forcing school closures from Maryland to Maine. At least three fatal crashes were linked to the storm, including a New Jersey couple killed when an SUV crashed into their bedroom. Airports canceled flights and a Philadelphia rail line halted after a truck struck a grade crossing. The system dropped up to a foot in parts of New England and caused widespread damage as crews struggled to keep up.
