Baldwin City marathoner eyes longer ultramarathon challenges
Baldwin City runner Justin Hoffman completed a 50 mile ultramarathon from Ottawa to Garnett and back on the Prairie Spirit Trail in 10.5 hours, finishing 21st of 80. A former Baldwin High cross country recruit, Hoffman returned to running five years ago after early sport years and now pursues greater tests through Epic Ultra events and coaching advice from Mike Spielman.

Wichita pastor fears death threats after same sex weddings

KU study shows blue lights cut red light running at two intersections
Lawrence police and KU researchers installed blue lights at 23rd and Iowa and 23rd and Louisiana in July 2013 to deter red light violations. After three months, left-turn red-light running dropped 42 percent, from 11 to 5 per 10,000 vehicles morning and 21 to 16 per 10,000 vehicles evening.
