Lawrence church hosts yearlong pop up artist colony

In East Lawrence the historic church at 10th and New York becomes Pilot Balloon Church House a yearlong pop up artist colony where creatives from across the country live a week to three weeks and create with no deadlines. Co organizers Josh Meyer and Matt Hislope describe it as a year of 80 roommates with residents including a death metal inspired theater project and the Sin Eaters who staged a grilled cheese confession art piece while others bake bread and craft papier mache masks.
