Burglaries and Thefts Reported in Lawrence Area
A 41 year old man reported the theft of a 1996 Ford Windstar in the 1100 block of Louisiana Street between 12 25 a m Sunday and 11 15 p m Monday. Hunt Inc reported tools and a tool trunk worth 10325 stolen with damage. A man was arrested for marijuana and methamphetamine at about 9 40 p m Sunday in the 100 block of East 11th Street. A 20 year old man was arrested Monday night for falsely reporting a crime and possession of stolen property valued at 500 in the 1300 block of Kentucky Street. A 17 year old reported aggravated robbery and battery in the 2400 block of Louisiana Street between 10 15 p m Dec 1 and 10 30 p m. A 24 year old woman reported her Chevrolet Impala stolen between 4 15 p m and 4 17 p m Saturday in the 700 block of New Hampshire Street. A 23 year old man reported theft of his 1968 gray Volvo between 5 p m Friday and 10 40 p m Sunday in the 900 block of Illinois Street. Fire calls include smoke detector and alarm malfunctions and an elevator rescue with several other incidents. The Journal World notes it does not print all police reports.

James Bery Carl Alder 86 Ellinwood Kansas died Friday December 3 2004 at home. Services were Monday at United Methodist Church Ellinwood burial Plains Cemetery. He was born March 5 1918 in Sneedville Tennessee and lived in Ellinwood since 1980 after Dodge City Ellsworth and Coldwater. He worked as life insurance agent owner of Alder Trucking truck driver and mechanic. He served on Ellinwood City Council 1990 2003 and was a Melvin Jones Fellow and Leader Dog coordinator. Survived by Leona Florene Wright wife since 1976 and several children stepchildren and grandchildren. Memorials to Ellinwood Food Bank or Lions Club.
