White House Decors Recall Past Holidays in 1998 Plan
The White House showcases holiday displays themed Holiday Reflections with 34 trees inside and 10 outside, 220 poinsettias, 50,000 lights, and 1,120 feet of garland. First Lady-elect Hillary Rodham Clinton tours the gingerbread White House replica as the Clintons prepare for a Senate run, while capricia Marshall notes Chelsea’s fondness for angels in past seasons. The official tree bears 12,751 lights and ornaments, and a Yellow Oval Room card by Ray Ellis completes the scene.
