Former Emporia Kansas attorney George L. Allred 57 was fined 1000 dollars and given three years probation after pleading guilty to evading about 17000 dollars in federal income taxes for 1960 1961 and 1962. Judge Daniel H. Thomas warned the tax must be paid and gave 30 days to pay the fine. Allred served as Emporia city attorney from 1959 to 1960 and resigned in April. He moved to Mobile Alabama last year and the case was transferred to Mobile federal court. A leniency petition from 16 friends claimed moving to Mobile spared embarrassment.
