A gang of seven or eight convicts escaped from Massachusetts state prison in Charlestown Boston. Two inmates and a truck driver were killed and several guards and prisoners injured. Denver Man Identifies Two Slugging Robbers
G P Brown of Denver identified two men as the assailants who slugged and robbed him of a small sum and papers after leaving St Louis en route to Denver. The suspects Edward Rhoden of Rochester New York and Harry James of Warren Ohio were arrested. Raymond Doland a 36 year old Kansas City barber who was sentenced to 30 days in jail and a 134.50 fine for possession of intoxicating liquor remains in Douglas county jail. Friends pressed county officials to release him while attempts to pay the fine focused elsewhere. Doland was arrested at the Kansas Missouri football game with about 14 others facing liquor or drunkenness charges. Judge Dodds said parole decisions are in Judge Means’s hands.
