Boston and Frank Murdock both seriously hurt in early morning crash on Beacon Street. Dobie fractured jaw and cheek bone with head injury. Murdock suffered severe head injury and jaw fracture. Both described as in fair condition and listed on danger list at City Hospital. Dobie recently arrived from Cornell and completed his first season as Boston College coach. Murdock was his Cornell assistant.

Gas main fire destroys alfalfa plant and damages lines

Topeka reports that temperatures in Kansas will rise to 40 to 45 degrees Friday while a light freeze is expected tonight with readings between 20 and 25.
