Farm Prices Rise 10 Percent in Kansas
TOPEKA AP Prices received by Kansas farmers in mid August rose 10 percent from a year earlier according to the Federal State Crop and Livestock Reporting Service. The mid August index for all farm products stood at 223 on the 1910-14 base, up from 222 in July and 202 a year ago. Meat animal prices jumped while food and feed grains rose moderately and hay poultry and eggs fell slightly.

Two Juveniles Held For Burglary In Front Back Plan
Lawrence police arrested two 13 year old boys on three burglary charges after they admitted a front door interview then back door search. They said they took 11 dollars at one residence and an undetermined amount at another. A neighbor tipped officers. Police say two weeks before 14 year olds cleared 14 cases. another 14 year old was arrested Sunday and four cases tentatively cleared. Still five attempted church burglaries outstanding.

Eleven Lawrence residences received notices to remove elm trees infected with Dutch Elm disease within 20 days or face city removal at owner expense. Youngsters Take Injury Spotlight
A 69 year old Lawrence man was the only person over 16 treated in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital emergency room last weekend for a bee sting. Ingersoll Jr. 54, president of Federal Barge Lines, and his wife Carol 42, were sailing from Sturgeon Bay to Marinette in a 16‑foot collapsible craft when it capsized off Peshtigo Lighthouse.
