USC Fans Plummet After Ninth-Grade Subpar USC Debacle
USC suffered a crushing 31-9 defeat to North Carolina in Anaheim as questions surfaced about the Trojans under John Robinson and the injury to tailback Dwight McFadden. Robinson blamed the team’s failure to defend the quarterback option, and sophomore Scott Fields faltered in McFadden’s injury absence. The result drops USC from the Top 20, signaling a grim outlook and a need for tempered expectations.
