Douglas County Ambulance Service reports ten helicopter flights in 12 days for eight accidents. Cable Franchises Impasse Threatens Lawrence TV Access
Sunflower Cablevision and KSHB Fox Kansas City's affiliate face a carriage dispute that could drop The Simpsons Star Trek The Next Generation and KMBC ABC from Sunflower on October 6 unless terms are agreed. Sunflower argues the stations seek carrier charges that would raise customer rates while maintaining some ABC access via KTKA Topeka. Both NBC CBS and other local channels remain available, with antenna reception expected though possibly degraded.
