Douglas County commissioners unanimously adopt a $201 million 2025 budget with a 2.911 mill reduction, bringing the total levy to 41.298 mills. The move marks the largest property tax rate decrease in decades and continues three straight years of levy cuts, contrasting a prior 70 percent rise during a long urban county period.

Gov. Laura Kelly ceremonially signed the bipartisan tax cuts package in Olathe, pledging relief for Kansans.
