Trail of bad checks leads to forgery charges in Fort Smith
In Fort Smith Arkansas on August 27, Donald H. Dawson of Kokomo Indiana and Beverly Simmons of Columbus Ohio faced forgery charges after police said Dawson admitted a trail of worthless checks. Assistant prosecutor Lem Bryan said the checks totaled around forty dollars but Dawson claimed they spanned several thousand dollars in ten states including Washington Idaho Montana Oregon Utah Wyoming Colorado Kansas Oklahoma and Arkansas.
