Pinckney wins power struggle over rail line route
Kansas utility planners embrace the PNA route north of the river and rail tracks linking Sixth and Kentucky to Lawrence Hill substation, with an estimated extra cost of 355 441 dollars passed to Lawrence's 31 000 electric customers. The plan would raise monthly bills about 33 cents for five years totaling 19 62 dollars, while critics question the estimate and impact on downtown businesses and residents. The Kansas Corporation Commission will decide on how to allocate the added cost.
