Lawrence man given 34 years for meth fueled crime spree
Lawrence man Ryan Miller, 36, pleaded no contest to aggravated criminal sodomy rape and multiple aggravated burglary counts after a spree that included raping two women and breaking into four homes in one night. He was arrested Nov 7, 2015, and sentenced Monday to 34 years in prison. A victim spoke emotionally in court recalling the assault and Miller’s night of crime.

Committee seeks lighter affordable housing rule for incentives
The Public Incentives Review Committee recommends reducing the affordable housing set aside by 25 points for city incentive projects. Under the proposal any project with at least 10 residential units would require 10 percent of units as affordable housing, down from a scale up to 35 percent for 50 or more units.
