County to launch tire disposal program with state grant
Douglas County will start a tire disposal program funded by a 35000 grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation shared with Jefferson County. Louie McElhaney says drop off sites and dates will be set later this year, with free tire turn in for residents. The plan aims to curb illegal tire dumping and establish an ongoing program managed perhaps by a private tire collection service.
