KU crews remove large campus art near Spooner Hall
KU crews dismantled Patrick Dougherty’s transient sculpture The Bedazzler near Spooner Hall after a long display since 2009. Helen Foresman Spencer Museum of Art director Saralyn Reece Hardy said the work’s impermanent nature was intentional, though its high-traffic site drew many fans and wedding proposals. The piece accompanied new student orientation and may not be the last temporary campus sculpture.
