Big robbery rattles Burlington mail sacks near Denver

Two registered mail pouches said to hold a large sum of money were stolen from Burlington train No. 2 between Denver and Omaha on the night of August 1. Officials estimate the heist may exceed 10 000 with some reports doubling that amount. A suspect slipped into the mail car and tossed three sacks from the window as the train ran straight tracks near the Nebraska line.

Kansan Rail Lines From Past and Present Fabric

Numerous Kansas railways have been chartered, absorbed, or abandoned. The Parsons Independence & Western merged into Katy, while the Kansas City & Olathe Electric secured seven miles of right of way and five-and-a-half miles of track. Governor declines to accept Judge Stillwell resignation
