Groups clash over concealed carry at Wichita abortion clinic
In Wichita two anti abortion groups distance from comments by Kansas Coalition for Life leader Mark Gietzen who argued the new concealed carry law could raise shootings near the South Wind Women’s Center. Kansans for Life, Operation Rescue and KCFL say his remarks are not shared. Trust Women Foundation executive director Julie Burkhart says there have been no escorts, just observers and a police complaint. City Council was urged to rezone the clinic to push it out, but took no action.

CVS stores in most states drop the requirement to show ID when buying nail polish remover and related products. The policy had been temporarily added about a month ago due to methamphetamine precursor concerns. Hawaii will still require ID for acetone products, and California, Hawaii, and West Virginia retain ID rules for iodine-containing items and other precursors.

Zombie Walk Organizer Plans Safe South Park Event
Harold Agnew, who has run the annual zombie walk for three years, reserved the South Park Bandstand and coordinated with homecoming planners to avoid conflicts with the Mass Street parade and pep rally. The event drew about 1,100 zombies and up to 2,000 spectators last year, with insurance and safety guidelines in place to keep participants orderly and family friendly. Agnew aims to raise charity funds and ensure both events run smoothly, noting uncertainty about spectator overlap but prioritizing a positive experience.
