Washington AP The first contract in the government helium conservation program was signed with Helex Co a Northern Natural Gas subsidiary. A plant at Bushton Kansas near Great Bend will extract helium from natural gas with a 72 year contract worth about 209 million dollars for 15.4 billion cubic feet. Production expected by mid 1962 with first gas no later than January 1 1963.
