Washington Aug. 14 Conferees seeking to reconcile differences between the house and senate on the utility holding company bill remained far apart on the compulsory abolition issue and called off a scheduled meeting. Chairman Wheeler of Montana indicated discouragement but scheduled another session for tomorrow as the senate version would mandate dissolution by 1942 of all unnecessary companies while the house version would leave dissolution to the securities commission discretion.

WPA hours policy set for Kansas projects
