British forces hold line and brace for another hard blow as German troops press, forcing retirement moves. Verbal cues imply Germans shift to old positions from 1917 and 1916, signaling renewed pressure on the front.
Allied reports show French forces pressing toward Lassigny and Belval as German defenses thin. Haig notes 28,000 prisoners, 600 guns captured since Thursday, with French gains across Oise and along the Somme front. German losses mount amid aerial combat and continued shelling.
